Penguin Private Investigations are a Lancashire based detective company.
Founded by retired police sergeant Jonathan Lobb, who has over 24 years experience in all aspects of police work within both urban and rural locations.
Penguin Private Investigations offer a wide range of private investigation services, such as tracing missing persons, debtors, process serving, criminal defence and private matrimonial investigations.
As a fully qualified ‘Missing from Home’ Manager with Lancashire Police, I built up an extensive knowledge of investigations into tracing missing persons. Using the latest Grampian data, as well as my own skills, I had a 100% tracing rate with any investigation I had involvement with.
Using my skills and wide range of contacts, I am confident I can find and trace any debtor and file a report for the client.
I can carry out service of a full range of documents and provide a sworn statement of service when necessary. I am able to serve papers relating to a number of different areas of law; insolvency, family matters and criminal summons being the most common, however using my extensive police experience I am confident I can serve on the most elusive of subjects.
Although generally instructed to serve process by law firms, I can advise and carry out process serving for private individuals and businesses. Given the rise of the number of litigants in person, people opting to act for themselves in legal matters can also instruct me directly.
Speak to me about process serving to hear about my range of process serving solutions.
I am highly skilled in the necessary procedures to undergo an effective investigation on behalf of the defence.
My police experience includes being in charge of a team responsible for targeting organised criminals with a propensity for dealing drugs. The investigations were extremely complex, as was the file of evidence. I supervised and signed off on all these cases and had to review all the case evidence before doing so.
My team had a 100+ successful prosecutions on cases such as these and the evidence had to be watertight.
I was also a Detective working within the Intelligence Unit & served several years as a custody sergeant where I became fully immersed in the complexity of the Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
Due to my extensive knowledge & experience in the police both investigative, up to the point of charge and file submission, I am able to detect any flaw in police evidence which is often enough to put a whole case in doubt. If there are any other potential subjects I will be able to identify that. This in itself can be enough to provide reasonable doubt as to the guilt of the client.
As a fully trained, retired police officer I can put fresh eyes onto a case and if there is any reasonable doubt I can and will find it.
I have extensive experience in both covert vehicle and foot surveillance due to my endeavours with the Police. I am fully aware of the legalities surrounding this sensitive subject.
Discretion is vital, essential & an absolute necessity for any successful Matrimonial Investigation. I will always carry out surveillance legally, ensuring its evidential value is not compromised and I will only advise surveillance should I believe it absolutely necessary.
I will provide statements along with any video/photographed evidence. All surveillance reports will come with a complete log and photos so that if no evidence is obtained, the client has full peace of mind that the enquiry has been completed.
I appreciate that prospective clients may be embarrassed approaching a Detective in order to request services because they believe his or her partner to be conducting an extra marital affair. Please don't be. I was a victim of this and I understand & empathise fully with your situation. Please come and speak to me, you have nothing to be ashamed of and I will bring you peace of mind and the opportunity to move on with your life.
Experience & Knowledge In
Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Jonathan Lobb & following my recent retirement from Lancashire Police, I have been working very hard in setting up my Private Investigation business, Penguin Private Investigations.
“During my 24 years associated both with Lancashire & Greater Manchester Police, I gained a great deal of knowledge & practical experience in many criminal investigations.”
I served in Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood , Milnrow, Burnley, Barnoldswick, Earby, Colne, Nelson, Brierfield & Blackburn so I have experience in both urban & rural locations.
Initially I worked as a Response Officer which gave me key foundation skills in the job to build upon and this helped enormously towards my promotion to Sergeant. I have been a Missing from Home Manager which provided me a wealth of skills in people tracing.
In my latter years, I worked ostensibly as a Sergeant on an extremely successful target crime team which targeted organised crime groups dealing drugs.
This led to investigating extremely complex enquiries including forensic, telephony & financial matters. During this time I also acquired experience & knowledge in both foot & vehicle surveillance. I received several commendations in relation to this work, which in turn led to a spell as Detective Sergeant with the Intelligence Unit before a move into Custody where I developed a great knowledge of procedures & PACE.
I have developed an expertise in my ability to review case files and pick out any weakness in the prosecution case and in particular any breaches of PACE on custody records.
I am adept at tracing missing people/debtors/witnesses etc. and detecting any false insurance & personal injury claims.
I would like to offer my professional services and if I can be of service & assistance in support of criminal matters, personal injury fraud or any aspect of investigation, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am based in Preston, Lancashire.
